How we won 8.0 mixed nationals: a tennis story.

In 2021, about 18,000 people in ~1,200 teams across the United States and the Caribbeans played adult 8.0 mixed doubles tennis. Only one team could be crowned the national champion. That was our team. This is the story – all from my perspective – of how we were the winning team of 2021.

10 year reflection @ 32 years old.

Most of this post was written next to my wife on a return flight from our honeymoon. My choices were to watch movies with no earphones, or write. Easy decision.

I just turned 32. I call the Bay Area home. I’m married. I work from home. I almost have an MBA degree. I play tennis regularly. I’m riddled with physical injuries. As I contemplate how we got here, I reflect on the past 10 years leading up to the present, and I envision how the next 10 years will pan out.

Hans Zimmer Live Performance

On Wednesday, April 19, I watched my all-time favorite composer Hans Zimmer perform at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. This is the mastermind behind some of the highest-grossing and most critically acclaimed movies of our generation; the genius behind the music of some of my favorite computer games; the gateway to my addiction of endless looping Epic music mixes on YouTube.
