Yesterday, the Berkeley folks and I went to the home of our program’s founder, Cal in the Capital. He created the program over forty years ago to help Cal students work in DC over the summer without worrying about housing – it enabled them to become more involved in government and politics while retaining a strong network.
The food was delicious: hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, house salad, and snacks.
Friendly bonding was plentiful.
The pool temperature was just right.
Lastly, the weather was just right… until we left the house early evening and was caught in a flash flood.
A good Sunday.
