Yesterday, I went to visit Crispin’s hometown at Lake Arrowhead. I took off from my home at 10:07am. It was a 71 mile drive to reach his home, including a 5200 feet climb over a 20 mile span up the mountain. Continue reading “Lake Arrowhood: the origins of Crispin.”

Fighting: not worth it.
At 10:20am this Tuesday morning, I was en route back to my place. I had bought grapes from Sproul and multivitamins from Walgreens. I walked towards the Asian Ghetto food court and witnessed a scene. Continue reading “Fighting: not worth it.”
Giving thanks on Thanksgiving.
During the lunch event with my relatives and extended family this Thanksgiving day, my cousin proposed that everyone gather in a circle and say something he or she is thankful for. It was during this time where it dawned upon me: I’ve never reflected on what I’m thankful for this day. Continue reading “Giving thanks on Thanksgiving.”
You woulda been 31.
Wdup cousin.
I would have written this yesterday, but I was being selfish with some me-time. I’m sure you could forgive me, since you still owe me for getting a virus on my Windows 98 way back then. 🙂 Continue reading “You woulda been 31.”
i, Alohi’s

I owe it to my Critical Reasoning and Writing professor, Dr. Claudia Stanger, for having recommended me to become a tutor. Having conducted my last tutoring session last week, I wanted to share my reflection on my overall experience. Continue reading “The Tutoring Experience”
The school decision that shapes my future.
I’m transferring next year, and the schools I could choose between are UC San Diego, UC Davis, UCLA, and UC Berkeley. The latter two posted their decision notifications later than the first two, which kept anxiety up. Upon getting accepted into both, UCLA and Berkeley became the finalists for my decision. Continue reading “The school decision that shapes my future.”
Sleep loss due to eustress and happiness.
A long, long time ago, I was a Tae Kwon Do artist. Since then, I’ve almost entirely lost my pelvis and hip flexibility, forgotten most of the forms, and lost my ability to kick effectively. Til this day, however, I still remember the Tenets of Tae Kwon Do. They are as follows: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. I’ll be talking about perseverance today. Continue reading “Sleep loss due to eustress and happiness.”
